Recognition
It is always good news to read that a friend gets recognition for the work they do, even in the most terrible circumstances. His Excellency Matt Anderson, the Australian High Commissioner to Samoa, has received the Australian Public Service Medal for his outstanding direction of “the Australian Government’s consular and humanitarian response to the September 2009 tsunami in Samoa”. Matt and the Australian High Commission personnel fully deserve this recognition not only for their efficient response immediately after the catastrophe, but also for their support long after the victims had been buried and their relatives had been repatriated. Matt was instrumental in achieving the Clea Salavert Library. Without his formidable support, the Library would not be what it is now.
Congratulations, Matt. You truly deserve recognition, more than some other Australia Day honours recipient.

Siempre es una buena noticia leer que un amigo obtiene el reconocimiento por el trabajo que hace, incluso en las circunstancias más terribles. Su Excelencia Matt Anderson, el Embajador australiano en Samoa, ha recibido la Medalla del Servicio Público Australiano por su notable gestión de “la respuesta consular y humanitaria del gobierno de Australia al tsunami de septiembre de 2009 en Samoa”. Matt y el personal del Alto Comisionado australiano son plenamente merecedores de este reconocimiento, no solo por su eficaz respuesta inmediatamente después de la catástrofe, sino también por su apoyo mucho tiempo después de que las victimas hubieran sido enterradas y sus familiares repatriados. Matt fue decisivo para consumar la Biblioteca Clea Salavert. Sin su formidable apoyo, la Biblioteca no sería lo que es ahora.
